As far as I have been able to find out – the barge was built here in Lakes Entrance, was trucked down to the ramp in Marine Parade, and once floated (presumably on the next highest tide) will be towed to Sydney. At this time I do not know what it will be used for in Sydney, but I am told there are alot of barges similar to it, although not as big, already operating in Sydney. Took these shots this evening. They have readied her for floating and constructed all her superstructure this afternoon.
Lovely to have a chat with locals and visitors alike, who were gathered to have a look and chat about what they had seen on the progress since we saw it all unfolding this morning. Will update you as and when we are made aware of further developments.
