Friday November 2, some of the members of “Walking With Friends – Lakes Entrance” enjoyed a cruise aboard Lonsdale Eco Cruises.
This is a fun, informative cruise, and even though the weather was less than favourable, we all had a wonderful time. We have done this cruise many times before, but it is never boring. Tony is very knowledgeable about the area, and always manages to teach us something new. On other cruises, we have found the dialogue, dull, boring and delivered in a monotone suggesting that the speaker wishes he/she were anywhere else but there! Tony never sounds this way, and presents his “off the cuff” commentary in a conversational and enthusiastic way that is very enjoyable to listen to. The sound system onboard is excellent, meaning that you are never straining to hear what Tony is saying. Crew, Melinda and Bronte make themselves available for anyone to ask questions, and make each guest feel welcome and comfortable. It goes without saying that the scones are amazing (I’ve heard it said Melinda’s scones are the best in Gippsland) and Bronte served them with a smile, and a pleasant word to everyone. All of this adding to the great atmosphere onboard.
The bonus of the day was seeing the dolphins at the Entrance, although they were not as playful as they have been over the last few weeks, we did manage a glimpse or two as Tony guided “Lonsdale” to the Entrance so we could get some photos.
A highly recommended Cruise on the Gippsland Lakes!
